Climate in Egypt
Since Egypt is in the desert, it is often very hot and dry. In fact, Egypt is the sunniest and driest country in the world! In the summer months, temperatures in Egypt are usually over 100 F. In the winter though, the temperature can be very chilly.
It does not rain very much in Egypt - sometimes only one or two times each year! In December 2013, Egypt had its first snowfall in nearly 50 years! Egyptians were very excited to see snow since many people had never seen it before in their life!
Sandstorms happen very often in Egypt as well. During a sandstorm, high winds blow loose sand everywhere. It can be very difficult to see anything during a sandstorm, even things that are very close to you. Many schools, homes and stores do not have any windows in Egypt and these sandstorms can make things very messy.
Based on the graph below, can you make a prediction about what the temperature might be like today?
